![]() ![]() English Department, Universitas Andalas, in collaboration with University of Social Science and Humanities, Vietnam, University Kebangsaan Malaysia, and University of Malaya, Malaysia, is organizing an international conference to bring together scholars, researchers and students to share their research results and ideas on how social and cultural changes in the world, particularly in Asian Countries, has brought implication on the way human being see the world, their self, and others. ![]() Some restrict it as an exclusively economic phenomenon while others believe it also has social, cultural and political effects. Some see globalization as the ever changing of technology, economy, media, and ideology through the movement of people over cultural and national boundaries. Thus, to understand globalization one must re-understand the world and how culture, diversity, politics, ethnicity, race, and homogeneity are manifested. Some people see globalization as the homogenization of culture. Keywords: EFL Teachers’ strategy, Students’ interest, Traditional Games Therefore, this paper presents the EFL teachers’ strategy in enhancing students’ interest through those kinds of traditional games. ![]() It is because of the advancement of technology in modern era. But now, no more children play the games. ![]() They were played by children many years ago. There are some kinds of traditional games in Gorontalo, such as, Tenggedi, Koba-koba, Tera, and Kacamata. Moreover, this study also explores more about the Traditional Games from Gorontalo as one of the examples of traditional games in Indonesia. The study used descriptive procedure in exploring and enriching the development of the explanation of this paper. This study also aims to investigate ESL students’ motivation in playing the traditional games while learning English. Consequently, this study aims to explore the advantages of implementing traditional games as a part of learning language activities. However, this strategy has not been thoroughly applied in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language. Abstract: Traditional games have been considered as a part of the learning process in order to engage students’ interest in learning something. ![]()
